On July 23, the national highway administration of Pakistan issued a substantial completion certificate for the sukur to multan section of Pakistan's peshawar-karachi expressway to Chinese construction projects, marking the early completion of the largest transportation infrastructure project under the china-pakistan economic corridor (cpec).

With a total length of 392 km and a design speed of 120 km/h and a total investment of 2.89 billion usd, the "sumu section" expressway was officially started in August 2016 with a construction period of 36 months. It is one of the early harvest projects of the china-pakistan economic corridor (cpec).

Nassim arif, general manager of the "sumu section" expressway project of the state highway administration of Pakistan, said at the ceremony of issuing the certificate on the day that Pakistan was impressed with the "sumu section" intelligent expressway and satisfied with the quality and progress of the project."China construction and Pakistan national highway bureau have been working closely and communicating constantly, overcoming numerous difficulties to complete this great project in three years, which is really great!"

It is learned that during the construction of the "sumu section" expressway, a total of 29,000 local jobs were created.A large number of new technologies and processes used in the construction of the project helped improve the level of highway construction in Pakistan and helped train a number of industrial workers in Pakistan.At the same time, the project department also implemented the construction of schools, roads, Bridges, Wells, canals and other public welfare projects in villages along the route.
