It is urgent to strengthen domestic iron ore resources guarantee.During the two sessions this year, a number of iron and steel industry CPPCC members put forward suggestions to increase the development of domestic iron ore resources, reduce taxes and fees for the development of domestic iron mines, speed up scientific research, enhance the competitiveness of domestic mines.

Suggestions on organic combination of resource exploration and ecological civilization construction, overall planning, and establishment of reasonable space for resource exploration and development
Our ministry is to organize the formulation of the first "rules" of the national land planning outline (2021-2035), overall consideration around the endowment of resources environment and economic and social development reality, draw a strategic mineral resources security area, layout of a batch of energy resources base, national planning and reserve mines mining area, draw a batch of key exploration area.
2. Suggestions on strengthening top-level design, revising and improving relevant mining policies and regulations, and encouraging social capital to enter commercial iron ore exploration
The CPC Central Committee and The State Council attach great importance to ensuring the safety of energy and strategic mineral resources.The fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the COMMUNIST Party of China adopted the Proposal of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on The Formulation of the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-term Goals of 2035, which clearly requires "ensuring the security of energy and strategic mineral resources".The 14th Five-Year Plan of the People's Republic of China for National Economic and Social Development and the Outline of the Long-range Goals for 2035 further clarify that: implement the strategy of energy and resource security, strengthen the planning and control of strategic mineral resources, enhance the ability to guarantee the safety of reserves, and carry out a new round of exploration and breakthrough strategic action.

The central government has allocated special funds through the budgets of departments of the China Geological Survey to support geological investigations of important metal and non-metallic minerals including iron ore, and it is not appropriate to repeat the establishment of relevant special funds.
